Hey guys, this is your host Acquania Escarne and today I come to you with a very important message. So much is happening in the world right now. It's easy to feel helpless, especially if you're not out protesting. Trust me, I feel your pain. I'm a wife married to a black husband, and a mother with two black sons. I pray for them daily because I can't always be there to protect them. And if I'm being honest, watching the video of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer, which eventually led to his death, brought me to tears. All of it shook me to my core. As a podcaster, I have a platform where I can speak out against racism and police brutality. And that's why I've joined podcasters from all over the world who've come together for the podcast is for justice campaign. Here's our public service announcement.

We are podcasters united to condemn the tragic murders of George Floyd and Breanna Taylor, and many others who have died at the hands of police. This is a continuation of systemic racism pervasive in our country since its inception. And we are committed to standing against racism in all its forms. We believe that to be silent is to be complacent. We believe that Black Lives Matter and black lives are more important than property. We believe that we have a responsibility to use our platforms to speak out against this injustice whenever and wherever we are witness to it. By creating digital media, we have built audiences that return week after week to hear our voices. And we will use our voices to speak against anti blackness and police brutality. We encourage you, our audiences to be educated, engaged and to take action.

Here are a few ways you can get involved today. If you have money to give you can donate to any of the following: the George Floyd Memorial Fund, the Minnesota Freedom Fund, the Black Vision Collective, Campaign Zero, or Black Lives Matter just to name a few. Or you can take action by signing a petition by texting "Floyd" to 55156 to demand justice for George Floyd or text "Enough" to 55156 to demand justice for Breonna Taylor. Sign up at Color of Change to be notified for more opportunities to take action. I will have all the links to these resources in the show notes. That's all for today, folks. Until next time, keep building generational wealth and creating change in your own communities so we can end racism, anti blackness and this injustice towards our young black men and women.
